***name-the-bike give away***

last week i bought a new bike for our trip to orcas island. we leave in three days and i think this sweet thing needs a name before we go.
i tell you what, leave an idea in the comment section and i will draw a reader's name when we arrive "on island" on friday.
the winner will receive something from our road trip!

Love that bike...names, hummm?
If you are going for something adventurous - wheeled crusader
girlie - kiki
obvious - pink bike
girlier - Princess kiki
old fashioned - Merle or Pearl

I have a Kona Caldera, it is old (circa 2002-2003 as far as mountain bikes go) I have red hair, my friends call me Red or Big Red so I call my bike Little Red. So there you go!

I'm going to have to go with Priscilla. And envy...not the name of the bike, but how I feel about your trip, but on second thought, if you want to give your bike a gladiator name, it could be Envy!

'Daisy' or 'Lola'. Those are good names. My bike's name is 'Rosie' because it has roses all over it. Even on the seat-it's a cruiser.

1) Matilda
2) Daisy, as in "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true...on a bicycle built for two."

i think the bike should be a cross-dresser named doodle islands. you could call him "dood" and it'll sound like "dude" and you'll remember you rode around on him on the island.

besides, who doesn't want a friend who's a cross-dresser? ; )

oooh, such a hard rite of passage...the picking of the name.

I liked a few of the old names because classic bikes and old names seem to go together.

Stella

Thats my pick.

And I MISS YOU, TOO! I think of you often and I'm so happy that this retreat is about to happen!

I wasn't sure if you'd still be blogging while you're gone but it sounds like a maybe?

Can't wait to see what good this does for you and Herb.

Sending our love to the unnamed bike and its lovely owner!

Hehe Just came over from Rhi's blog... Tracey the Trekker...
I thought Baz when I first read your comment but seeing as your gorgeous beauty is pink and floral... Baz seems wrong some how.
Something Autumn-y seems more right... Amber?
Oh and the seat on it looks scrummy!!

Friend, "blog stalker" Rachael here and long lost pal from CO. I keep up with you in disguise and love reading your latest ventures! I couldn't help but come out of the dark for the prime opportunity to help name your sweet bike (**insert dorky Napolean Dynamite accent when you say "sweet bike"**)

I think it should be named HELEN...as in Helen Wheels...as in Hell on Wheels. It's a sweet old fashioned name with a touch of quirky and 'lots of soul. Fitting.

This little island had better watch out - Helen Wheels coming though!

Looooove Rachael Smith (formerly known as Rachael Sybesma)
