***name-the-bike give away***
last week i bought a new bike for our trip to orcas island. we leave in three days and i think this sweet thing needs a name before we go.
i tell you what, leave an idea in the comment section and i will draw a reader's name when we arrive "on island" on friday.
the winner will receive something from our road trip!

i used to live in colorado springs. i totally miss it there!
Hmmm...I'm thinking Mabel or something old-fashioned... :)
Love that bike...names, hummm?
If you are going for something adventurous - wheeled crusader
girlie - kiki
obvious - pink bike
girlier - Princess kiki
old fashioned - Merle or Pearl
I have a Kona Caldera, it is old (circa 2002-2003 as far as mountain bikes go) I have red hair, my friends call me Red or Big Red so I call my bike Little Red. So there you go!
This bike's name is obviously Veronica! :) cute bike! I'm jealous!
Lori
She's so pretty and girly...love that it's girly but not even pink:)
Since she's peach:
Georgia
Or the first name that popped in my head was:
Penelope
Enjoy yourself:)
The Orca Bomber
I'm going to have to go with Priscilla. And envy...not the name of the bike, but how I feel about your trip, but on second thought, if you want to give your bike a gladiator name, it could be Envy!
I vote for Bella!
The first thing that came to mind was Shirley. I've got a few more:
Elida or spell it Elyda
Gertrude
Mildred
Bessie
I can't wait to hear what name you pick. Have a great trip!
What a CUTE bike. I love the color and design. How fun! The very first name that came to mind was Creamsicle. :)
That bike is cute!
How about Flora? Flora means Flower (in some language!) LOL! and flowers have petals and you have to petal a bike!
I know, I am a genius!
She looks like a Susie to me.
well- her name is either
A. Lucy (a personal fav of mine!) or
B. Bubbles.
Wow- have a great trip!

Carabelle!!!! Sweet bike! Have a great time on your trip!
I'm going with Tootie, like from Facts of lIfe or Mona from Who's the Boss, both awesome choices ;).....she needs a bell, though. :)
it looks like a sylvia...
'Daisy' or 'Lola'. Those are good names. My bike's name is 'Rosie' because it has roses all over it. Even on the seat-it's a cruiser.
1) Matilda
2) Daisy, as in "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true...on a bicycle built for two."
Penelope...nickname...Penny.
love the bike.
wanda
I'm freaking out because my first thought was Wanda and then I read all these comments and someone else said Wanda. Scary!
wanda... okay no i joke.
doris!
audrey
ethel
dillis
vera
i could go on :P
Amelia
Peaches
Sweet Sassy
Georgia Sue
Fun game!
i think the bike should be a cross-dresser named doodle islands. you could call him "dood" and it'll sound like "dude" and you'll remember you rode around on him on the island.
besides, who doesn't want a friend who's a cross-dresser? ; )
oooh, such a hard rite of passage...the picking of the name.
I liked a few of the old names because classic bikes and old names seem to go together.
Stella
Thats my pick.
And I MISS YOU, TOO! I think of you often and I'm so happy that this retreat is about to happen!
I wasn't sure if you'd still be blogging while you're gone but it sounds like a maybe?
Can't wait to see what good this does for you and Herb.
Sending our love to the unnamed bike and its lovely owner!
Charlotte. Definitely Charlotte. :) Enjoy your trip!
Hehe Just came over from Rhi's blog... Tracey the Trekker...
I thought Baz when I first read your comment but seeing as your gorgeous beauty is pink and floral... Baz seems wrong some how.
Something Autumn-y seems more right... Amber?
Oh and the seat on it looks scrummy!!
Obviously, this bike needs to be named "Stryker."
Mark M.
did you already draw for this? did i miss it? :)
Friend, "blog stalker" Rachael here and long lost pal from CO. I keep up with you in disguise and love reading your latest ventures! I couldn't help but come out of the dark for the prime opportunity to help name your sweet bike (**insert dorky Napolean Dynamite accent when you say "sweet bike"**)
I think it should be named HELEN...as in Helen Wheels...as in Hell on Wheels. It's a sweet old fashioned name with a touch of quirky and 'lots of soul. Fitting.
This little island had better watch out - Helen Wheels coming though!
