* cOmE, CoMe, OH fAll!!! *

(photos taken fall 2007)

i love that warm/cool feel that the air holds during this magical season.
i love the way the sunlight hits everything
in a way that makes it look more beautiful,
stronger,
more vibrant.
amber and orange and warm.
cozy and yummy and safe.
looking back.
looking forward.
sweaters and scarfs and mugs
that fit just right in the hand.
soup and hot apple cider.

what do YOU love about fall?

Oh Fall is my favorite holiday. I love the smell of fireplaces, and burning leaves. I love how the ground is so colorful, full of leaves. The start of wearing hats and scraves! AND most of all its when I whip out all those awesome smelling yankee fall candles:)

I LOVE this time of year too! The browns, brunt orange and other colors of fall. The trips to the pumpkin patch and the corn maze! Trick of Treating on out Main Street. Lots of fun memories!

fall means pumpkin ales,
oktoberfest ales,
lots of coriander and spice in ales,
a move from summertime citrusy ales to darker, spicier heavier ales,
and it means cardigans and long sleeves,
and no mosquitos and less sweat,
and my birthday.

ps. we are so going to party.
psps. i will return your call monday morning. we had some girls over to watch SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. it was grand. that's why i did not receive or return your call tonight. apologies. will call monday.

wearing extra long scarves.
trying to find a suitable winter coat.
tights and boots and mini skirts.
warm herbal tea and toasted teacakes in the evening.
the nights getting darker.
it being allowed to rain, because now its autumn.
theres quite a lot :)

Fall means that men don't have to look like little boys anymore! Sure there are linen pants and shirts to wear in the summer, but when it's a thousand degrees, even those don't cut it... so you end up in shorts and a t-shirt and look like your 12... or at best, in college. Of course, there are the rare men that can pull off the leather sandals, cuffed linen shorts, and appropriate italian accessories... and if that's you, my hat's off to you! But for the most part, the dawning of Autumn means that men can once again look like men.
